Pitstopboss Manager Game Tips #12

By supportboss on April 26, 2010

One of the first things you’ll want to do is to start buying drivers and car parts, here is how it’s done.

Go to Contracts on the Navigation Menu and then choose the item you want to buy.

Let’s say you want a new driver, select Get New Driver.

This will take you to a page with a list of all drivers currently for sale.

Use the dropdown menu to select which driver you want to look at.

Once you have found the driver you want, select the amount of credits you want to bid and then click on Offer Contract.

For some drivers with no bids there’s an option to GET NOW. For others you will have to wait 2 or 3 days for all bids to be made before you discover if you have got the driver.

The process is the same for all team members and car parts.

Improve the value and stats of your team by making improvements. Simply select what areas you want to improve and the work happens automatically overnight.

The more improvement slots dedicated to one improvement, the faster the stat will rise. For example if all four slots are being used for Engine, this will improve twice as quickly as when two slots are dedicated to this improvement.

The effect of improvements will not be immediate so do not expect stats to rise daily. You can see how many development points are needed for the next stat increase by hovering your cursor over the stat in question.

Buying a CTO can help speed up improvements. When buying a CTO, look at the “improvements time” stat to see how much.

Improvements do not only work on your car, some also work for the people in your team. For example, choosing ‘engine’ will improve both your car engine stats and your AND driver’s speed stats.
Another example is: Choosing ‘pitstops’ will improve your driver’s communication stat as well as the pitcrew’s communication stat.

Today we discuss the page on which you can join competitions.

The DURATION of your session is the maximum time a practice and qualifying session lasts.

Choose from Turbo, Regular (24 hours), Long (48 Hours) and Longer (72 Hours).

Level Points help improve your ranking and allow you to progress up the levels of the game.

Select the TYPE of race you are looking for. This area only has Test sessions at present but it will expand to include full races and leagues later on in the beta test.

Pay Attention to the COUNTDOWN column, as this is the time left until the competition starts. Refresh the page and it will update.

Click the JOIN button to find out more info or join a competition.

Some competitions will not start until a certain number of drivers enter.

Today we discuss your Team page.

Halfway down this page you will find your objectives to reach the next level in the game. These may range from voting for PSB a certain amount of times, to negotiating a new contract, to improving a car part’s stats by a certain percentage. When all objectives are complete you go up a level and new objectives will appear on this page.

My Latest Races shows you all of the competitions that you have recently been involved in and those that are still active. If the competition is active you will also see the countdown to when the next round starts/current round ends. There are also links to view the competitions.

By clicking on the flag next to your ‘country’ you will be taken to a league table of managers from the same country.

* Alliances will now need to share racing a little more evenly among members.
* Made adjustment to race mode, so you can elect not to go on all your qualification runs.
* As per email to dealerships, to keep a fair balance to the game, dealership items will be limited to 1 extension and 30 days maximum contract length.
* Slight adjustment to lap time calculation, which will see slightly varied times per visit at tracks.
* Several new tracks commissioned and to be unveiled in the game shortly.

By supportboss on April 7, 2010

We’ll be performing some maintenance on the server tonight which will result in some downtime.

This is planned to take place around 1am GMT and the game will probably be inaccessible for a couple of hours as it takes place.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Pitstopboss Manager Game Tips #8

By supportboss on April 7, 2010

You need a CTO in order to manufacture very high level upgrades.

The level to which you can upgrade a part depends on your CTO. Look at his Basic Stats to see up to what level he can upgrade each part.

Don’t forget to choose your upgrades related to the cup you will join. Because some cups have restrictions, and some cups have level limits at some upgrades.

By purchasing a contract for an upgraded part, you won’t automatically improve your stats. Once production time has finished you can then enable the upgrades in the races, using the Configuration tab on your racing page.

Upgrades use the ‘slots’ on your chassis, you also get extra slots when you get a CTO, how many depends on your CTO.

The cost of upgrades may go up with depending on the amount of drivers you have.

Saving your setups is a good way to get a head start the next time you race at that track.

When you have a setup you’d like to reuse, on the monitor page of the competition, scroll down to ‘setup management’.

Give the setup a name and save it.
When you want to reuse it go to the same page, select it and load it.

Bear in mind that it won’t give you the same setup as you had last time, there are many variables, but it’s a good starting point.

You can save 40 setups if you’re not a Supporter and 400 if you are.

Pitstopboss Manager Game Update

Welcome to another update. This is a small one mainly necessary due to the race program shakedown.

Firstly a bug was discovered and fixed that was rendering some upgrades ineffective. This was discovered for engine upgrades.

Some re-balancing adjustments have been necessary based on some results of the race testing.
The upshot is that the durability of tyres is playing slightly more of a prominent role in calculating tyre wear.

For some players, you may see a slight improvement in tyre wear, and for some, maybe a slight reduction.
This is a necessary upgrade to bring tyres in-line with running race distances.

There may be a period of slight instability with lap times for the current sessions, but a more normal service will resume for any new sessions that start from 6pm GMT today.

If you experience any abnormalities, please use the feedback button.
